ODSG TO EMPLOY ANOTHER ROUND OF HEALTH PERSONNELS.

The Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency has concluded arrangements to inject fresh health personnel into the primary health care system of the state. The Permanent Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Francis Adegoke Akanbiemu, stated this while declaring open a 2-day workshop for Family Planning Vanguards in Akure. Akanbiemu said the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has graciously approved the recruitment of more health workers into the primary health care system of the state, noting that all cadres of health workers would benefit from the recruitment. He said all necessary steps have been concluded to place an online and Newspaper advertisement so that prospective applicants would know how to obtain the application form. Dr Akanbiemu said Ondo state is a leading state in the health sector and this wound be sustained when the new health professionals are injected in to the system. The Permanent Secretary charged the family planning vanguards to take their job seriously and allow their clients to be proud of them. In his speech, the Director of Medical Services of the Agency, Dr. Paulinus K. Omode, said that the leadership of the Agency is very passionate about leveraging innovative strategies to improve the contraceptive prevalence rate in the State. He added that the Agency has concluded arrangement to commence the implementation of an home-grown initiative tagged "#FamilyPlanning Champion Awards-given Ceremony", where the most faithful and consistent woman to family planning would be rewarded with gifts and named family planning Champion. According to him, this will make family planning more attractive at the communities, dispel rumours, myths and misconceptions, and hence create demand for family planning. Dr Omode charged the Family Planing Vanguards to cascade down whatever they leamt at the training to other health workers in their respective facilities and local government areas. In her Speech, the family planning State Coordinator, Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency (OSPHCDA), Mrs Opeyemi Agunbiade, said the family planing vanguard were drawn from Ose, Okitipupa, Ondo West and Akure North local government areas, noting that the other 14 LGAs have had their turns of the training earlier. The 2-day training is centred on Hormonal Intrauterine Device (IUD)
