Training of Health workers on Activity/Business Plan Tracker Management Information System (APTMIS)

The training which was held in Premier Hotels and Resort in Igbara-Oke was sponsored by the Nigeria State Health Investment Project (NSHIP).
The training had in attendance Directors and Program Officers from the State Ministry of Health, Hospitals' Management Board, State Primary Health Care Development Agency, NSHIP Project Implementation Unit (PIU), health workers from 18 LGAs and 531 NSHIP Health Facilities in Ondo State.

This training was carried out to ensure that health workers have the basic knowledge and technical skills required to use the newly developed APTMIS application.

This application which is the first of it's kind to be used in the project implementation in any State in Nigeria was an initiative of the PIU which was brought to reality by the strong support of the OSPHCDA leadeship. The application is aimed at monitoring and tracking LGA/health facilities quarterly Business/Activity Plan, to prevent activity duplication and mis-procurement, monitor financial management and budget implementation progress to ensure financial transparency and accountability.

The importance of this leverage on ICT among other things is that, right from the comfort of the Regulator/Purchaser's' office duplicate entries by the health facilities (Providers) in the Activity/Business Plan are detected real-time and risk-based verification can be done. This will reduce the risk to life through frequent and unguided visits to Healt facilities and enhace cost saving/efficiency.
