Mrs Onoja Joyce is the Cold Chain Officer of the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency.

Immunization supply chain activities started in the State in 1976 and the department of Logistics and Health Commodities was carved out of Immunization department in the year 2017.  This department mandate is to provide potent vaccines free to all population at risk of vaccine preventable diseases, especially children under 5 and women of child bearing age.

This mandate is achieved through regular supply of bundled vaccines and other health commodities by NPHCDA through OSPHCDA to all 18 LGAs in the State with 613 health facilities. It must be pointed out that items that are needed for the implementation of all immunization operations at the LGA, ward and facility levels are always in the right place, at the right time, in the right quantities, at the right quality, in the right condition and at the right cost. 

 

DEPARTMENT OBJECTIVES

1. To ensure that high-quality vaccines and Health commodities are always available in the right quantity and form at the right time, in the right place and stored and distributed under the right conditions.

2. To promote integration with other supply chains for more effective delivery of Primary health care services.

3. To invest in systems and infrastructure to safely manage, treat and dispose of vaccine and immunization waste to prevent environmental hazards”
