Roles and Responsibillities
- To promote the development of primary health care through advocacy, social mobilization/BCC, Community ownership and participation.
- support and Facilitate the planning and execution of health promotion and community development activities in the State/LGAs
- Support and Facilitate the development of campaigns and health information, and education for regular programs such as immunization, HIV/AIDs, Family planning, public hygiene as well as emerging diseases etc. Ensure that all health prevention and promotion programs are prioritized and integrated in the State and LGA Health Strategic and Annual Operational Plan
- To facilitate/Suport BCC, health promotion and social mobilization strategies and materials (IMCI,EDL, Safe water, Nutrition, VPDs, Minor ailments)
- To use strategies information for advocacy to LGAs and traditional institutions
- To promote 'Client Rights' and Create demand for quality PHC services in the State
- To support low performing LGAs in the planning and implementation of accelerated strategies (LIDs/Child Health Weeks)
- To disseminate (In Collaboration with the NPHCDA) Clinical guidelines and standards (Immunization, IMNCH, nutrition, child growth and Development, reproductive health, STIs, Malaria, Minor ailments, etc)
- To support LGHAs to institutionalise routine health education and lifestyle change campaigns
- To Monitor the Composition and Working of the existing ward and village development committee with a view to ensure the sustainable existence and usefulness of committees
- to provide support for the training and utilization of community development committee memebers
